October 2025 Missions Update and Future Plans

ree

The summer has officially come to a close here in Michigan and we can see it clearly all around us. The trees have all but changed, the weather is beginning to turn cold, and we are once again transitioning into the holiday season (whether we’re ready for it or not).

I finished my first year at the Department of Natural Resources on October 11th. Trenton attended a pastoral conference in New Philadelphia, Ohio. We are gaining ground on official dates for next years’ mission trips with the Go Initiative. My second book is one month away from being finished. And we celebrated Trenton’s 29th birthday with a short trip to the Skybridge up north.

We also had an unexpected answer to prayer this month. As many of you know from previous newsletters, I have been struggling to get the medication I need. It has been a long summer of fighting with insurance, talking with doctors, and trying to prepare myself for what would have to change if I wasn’t able to continue the treatment. The last thing we were told the end of August was that it’d be $6,000 every month starting in October. But for reasons beyond what we can comprehend, it was not. In fact, we had to pay a total of $0 this month, and not even the pharmacist could explain why. We aren’t sure if this will continue, but so far it seems we may temporarily be in the clear. Please continue to pray that we could get the medicine at an affordable cost. As we’ve seen this month alone, those prayers really do work!

We are happy to announce that we have dates for our training with Sports Event Evangelism next June! Lord willing, we will be leaving for Texas on June 13th and meeting up with a group in Toronto the week following. We are hoping to have the dates for that week set in stone by the end of November as we are looking to have a team from our home church join us. But we will keep you updated as things progress.  If you are interested in finding a group near you to serve with during the 2026 Soccer World Cup, feel free to visit the SEE website via the link below for more information.

As for Australia, we have had a few of our churches contact us recently regarding clarification on our plans to go back. I stated in a previous newsletter that we had stepped down from full-time support raising due to unexpected difficulties such as our house flooding and recurring health issues. I’ve prepared an official clarification letter for those wanting more information on what our plans are for the future. Our hope is that we will be able to return to Australia for a few weeks toward the end of 2026 in order to reassess and move forward with things. You can read the letter here:

A documentary on the current state of biblical Christianity in Australia released this week. Feel free to watch it below for an inside look at the desperate need for the Gospel there, and the increasing need for missionaries.

https:Here are a few prayer points for this month.

  1. 1. Our Go Initiative team leaves for the Operation Christmas Child Facility on November 30, 2025. Pray for those going, for those who have had to drop out. Pray the Lord would use this team in a mighty way.

  2. 2. I have a busy month of writing ahead, finishing my second book and starting my third. Pray for this part of the process as it is by far the hardest. Pray the Lord will give me clarity as I work to finish out this series.

  3. 3. The holidays are coming up quickly and that always means things get busy, busy, busy. Pray for our holiday ministry events and for the planning we will have to do in January and February.

  4. 4. Our team in Australia is taking huge strides in ministry. Much of the team is moving to different parts of the country to help plant churches and others are planning to move to New Zealand in the coming year. Pray for the survey trip they have there in February. Pray that we can get back sometime next year to reassess and see where the Lord is leading.

  5. 5. My health is much better now that I’m back on the medicine, but please keep the insurance situation in your prayers, that I can continue to receive the medication at an affordable cost.
