Ministry Update
Easter is always a very exciting time of year for the ministry. It's a time to reflect on what the Lord has done, what He will do, and what He is currently doing. It opens up so many doors to sharing the Gospel with people who do not typically attend church on a regular basis, and helps us to realign our priorities with God's intentions for His church.
We spent the majority of this month preparing for a very busy week leading up to Easter, our worship team tackling practices head-on toward the beginning of the month in anticipation for our Passion Worship Night on the 29th and our Sunrise Service on Easter Morning. The biggest blessing of all was, despite being held outside on an extremely cold morning in Northern Michigan, we had so many people show up that we had to put out more chairs!
Passion week, however, was not the only week that contained special services and events. On April 17th, we got to celebrate another baptismal service in which a young couple whom Trenton invited to church back in January got baptized. On April 12th, we had a great turnout at our second Winter Potluck, and on April 22nd, we were able to take the teens to an escape room in place of the usual Teen Fellowship Friday we hold monthly at the church.
We also had the opportunity to start discipling two young individuals, one from our church and the other from Trenton's work. It has kept us busy these past few weeks, but we are excited to hit the ground running with these special individuals who are ready to take the next step in their walk with Christ.
Life/Health Update
We celebrated Hanna's 26th birthday on the 13th, heading down to Frankenmuth, Michigan to do an escape room with a couple of our really good friends from one of our supporting churches. She is scheduled for her next medical procedure at the University of Michigan on Thursday. This will be a follow up to the elimination diet they had tried the end of last year to see if the medicine they had to put her back on is still working the way it should. It is the only thing they've found to keep her eosinophil levels at bay, so please pray for God's guidance as she goes through the procedure and finds out the results.
Writing Update
We are extremely excited to announce that today is release day for the first book in Hanna's upcoming Christian Fiction series! If you follow her on Facebook or Instagram, you know she's been sharing character reveals and behind the scenes information all month in the lead up to this very special day. She was also blessed with the opportunity to have an interview with the paper which you can read here: https://www.iosconews.com/news/article_d27fd0f0-f042-11ee-8d46-03b30fea8046.html
Our website has been updated to include the link to purchase this book, but we will also include the link below in case you are interested in checking it out. She will, Lord willing, be setting up a book signing very soon and is excited to share more information regarding book two of the series in the coming months.
On the Field
Our on the field update this month is in regards to our upcoming mission trip to the Olympic Games in Paris, France. We received an email this month with a link to the devotional booklets we will be using, and were informed of a change in our bi-yearly church mission conference which is now to be held in July only a week and a half before our departure date. It will be held July 12th-14th and will serve partially as a send-off for the trip, so if anyone is interested in coming, feel free to contact me and I will give you more information as we grow closer to that date.
Applications for the trip are still open to anyone until May 1st, so there is still time to register if you feel the Lord leading you to do so. If you have any questions regarding the application process or details regarding the trip, feel free to contact us personally. If we do not know the answer, we know people we can direct you to!
