It is with a sorrowful heart that we inform you of Trenton's grandfather's passing. After a long battle with Parkinson's disease, he passed away only a day before Trenton's 27th birthday on October 20, 2023. Please keep Trenton and his entire family in your prayers during this difficult time, that the Lord may comfort them in their time of loss.
Ministry Update:
The month of October was another busy one regarding ministry as we are gearing up for the upcoming holiday season and all the outreach events that come with it. We started practice on an upcoming Christmas play, sent out invites to this month's Thanksgiving dinner on the 19th, and held our first meeting for the short term mission trip to Uganda scheduled for the end of January 2025.
On October 21st, we held our first youth event, entitled noodle night, where the teens enjoyed a plethora of games involving pool noodles, and partook in a spaghetti dinner. Held on the same day as Trenton's 27th birthday, the teens surprised him with a birthday cake and a brand new study Bible to celebrate.
Toward the end of the month, Hanna was invited to participate and/or speak at a women's retreat with other members from the church. She was asked to speak on the importance of availability as a result of her recent graduation from the discipleship program we both went through via the church.
We also had the opportunity to visit a wonderful church in Richwood, Ohio on November 5th, where we were able to share our updated ministry presentation and get to know the people of the congregation.
Life/Health Update:
As most of you already know, Hanna is currently in the process of going through a 54-week treatment plan for the chronic autoimmune disease she was diagnosed with back in 2019. The treatment involves a very strict diet that changes every eight weeks, and she has to got though an endoscopy in between each of those eight week periods. Yesterday, we traveled down to the University of Michigan where she underwent her first procedure. It went well, even despite all the traveling we've had to do over the course of the first eight weeks, and she will be meeting up with her dietician within the next week to discuss what they plan to have her add back in to her diet. Her next procedure is scheduled for the end of January.
Writing Update:
Hanna's upcoming Christian fiction novel is still in the works. She spent the month adding to character and scene development and is now waiting for the final pass-through of edits to clear. She is hoping to have a release date by the beginning of the new year.
On The Field:
There were some pretty big voting debates going on in Australia this past month. Despite the campaign slogan being "The Power of Yes", Aussies made it clear that they did not want to give Indigenous peoples (Aborigines) a voice to Parliament. Even many Aboriginals themselves voted no on the "Yes Campaign", which caused the proposal to fail in a landslide.
In regards to Scripture classes in the public schools, the country is commissioning a study to be done throughout the duration of 2024. They are still doing all that they can to get the classes out, so pray with us that the Lord would intervene and allow them to continue regardless of the backlash.
What's Next?
We have another busy month ahead of us, so please be in prayer over the following appointments and/or events.
November 12th - our first exam through LFBI is due
November 12th- we have an important meeting with our regional director regarding future ministry plans.
November 17th- Our next youth night at the church
November 19th- Hale Baptist Church's Thanksgiving Dinner (Outreach Event)
December 9th-10th- Visit to Hastings Baptist Church in Hastings, Michigan
Prayers:
Pray for the ministry and all of our upcoming appointments and events
Pray for Hanna's health as she works her way through the treatment plan
Pray for Trenton and his family on his Mom's side as they grieve the loss of his grandfather. Pray for his grandmother as she prepares to move back to Michigan within the next few months.
Pray for the youth of our church (specifically the teens we serve). The devil has been active, trying to steer them away from the truth.
Praises:
Praise that Hanna's first procedure went well. Praise that she is able to finally get the treatment she needs for her autoimmune issues.
Praise for Trenton and the 27 years of life the Lord has blessed him with!
Praise for our church, for the people that continuously step up to help and encourage whenever needed.
Praise that Hanna got to visit her sister after our church visit on the 5th. It had been a long time since they were able to meet up, and they had a great time.
