As I mentioned in previous articles, I am placing my latest novel, Losing Dani Strumm, back on the to-do list with the sale of my antique mall and my newly developed schedule making this possible.
I had to abandon writing for a while because of the business and not having enough time to devote to the story. Not giving 100% to something I am working on is the last thing I want to do.
Yesterday I printed the manuscript in preparation for reading so I can get back into what I have finished and see where I started to veer off course.
If my memory serves, I wrote two or maybe three chapters in the wrong direction. If this is true, returning to the storyline will not be too difficult.
I have struggled with the ending of this story.
I like Dani as a character and feel she is fully developed, deep, and engaging. So, the problem is that there are a few different viable endings this story could logically have. I am unsure which path to take and want to get the most out of this story.
It is more complicated than having a happy or tragic ending. However, because of the storyline, there are a few bleak and happy endings from which to choose.
Of course, I am the guy who detests spoilers of any kind. Therefore, I won't share any here today. I won't even give a clue as to which way I am leaning.
I begin my read-through this Wednesday.
I cannot wait to read the final draft!
